Bible Stories told through Felt!

Okay, so here are all the sheets and sheets of all the Bible characters

It's plain huge, but I love it
and so do the children!

Each year, that I teach Joy School,
I take out the Bible characters, trees, animals etc.

After the children have listened to the Bible story, read from the Bible,

Joy School Registration is Open!

Registration is Open
for the 2016-2017 school year!
Joy School welcomes children
between the ages of 3 to 5 years old.

Class begins
Wednesday, September 20th, 2016.
We will meet at 9:30am to 11:30am every week.

Each week your child will:
  1. Be a part of our morning educational play time. This time of the morning I use to welcome the children and as an ice breaker time for the children. They get to come in each week knowing that we will have twenty minutes to explore, be creative and have fun together with something completely different each week.
  2. Be a part of a prayer time. At this time we share our prayer requests with each other and I talk to them about also sharing a 'praise report' or a word of thanksgiving.
  3. Be a part of morning pledges. We say the Pledge of Allegiance and the Christian Pledge each week.
  4. Take part in Circle time. Here we learn and review the calendar: Months of the Year, Days of the Week, counting forwards and backwards, talking about upcoming holidays and trying to figure out how many days away are special events. We also learn and review our alphabet, colors, and shapes. We review all educational concepts through song.
  5. Will have a snack time. During this time we celebrate birthdays, 100 book reading awards or holidays.
  6. Take part in our Bible time. Each week we study a new story from the Bible that coincides with the letter of the week. For instance: For the letter A we will study the story of Adam and Eve, "Adam ate an Apple."  We will review the story, the letter of the week and the sound of that letter at this time.
  7. Take part in our Bible craft time. Here we gather together to make a craft that goes along with or reinforces the Bible Story and letter of the week. The crafts are all stored in their own God, Me and My A,B,C's book and presented to the children upon graduation day
  8. Lastly, they take part in our Bible Songs time. It is here where I teach over twenty different Bible songs that also reinforce the Bible lessons they have learned all year. We use instruments, dance, and movements for many of the songs.
Joy School is a wonderful time for all! If you would like to see or know more about Joy School check out my Joy School blog and see all the things the children have worked on all year. Hope so very much that you can join us next year and be a part of what God is doing through these little ones!

If you would like to register your child for the upcoming school year or if you have any questions please e-mail me at shepherdingwithjoy@gmail.com. There is a discount for those who register early!!! Early registration is from April to June.

Thank you for checking out my Joy School blog!

God, Me and My A,B,C's

Introducing
God, Me and My A,B,C's!
written and illustrated by me!

It is a wonderful Pre-School Bible Curriculum
that teaches children:
-their alphabet
-Bible Stories throughout the Old and New Testament
-Bible Memory Verses and
-Bible Crafts

*Sample shown below*
Below is the student page for the letter Aa.
The children will hear the story of  how Adam and Eve
disobeyed God.
The title of the page is "Adam ate an apple."
Then they will color in their letter of the week: Aa.

In the back of the book the teacher will find the craft and pre-cut the pieces.
(All of the craft pieces, for each letter, are included in the back of the book!)

Here is what the completed letter Aa page will look like!

I have also written a Teacher's Edition or Guide to go along with the student book
that will help the teacher create a wonderful experience using this book.

100 days chart

I LOVE my 100 Days of School Chart!
Each day in class, during our Circle Time,
one child comes up and reveals the new number.

We review all the numbers each day up until that day.

I have the children guess what the next number will be for tomorrow,
but have them wait and see!
It has been a wonderful resource in teaching:
numbers up to 100,
skip counting by 5 and 10,
odd and even numbers,
and counting forward and backwards!

I found this chart (and it's very large~as you can see) at Oriental Trading Co.
They no longer sell this chart, but they sell another one and it's smaller!
