Friday

Letter of the Day: Kk, Happy Birthday Jesus party!!!

Today we had our third lesson
on the true meaning of Christmas.
We read about the wise men and how they followed the star.

Then we practiced our songs and got ready
for the moms, siblings, grandparents and friends to arrive.

We began our celebration with the children singing for us!

They sang six different Bible songs with the help
of our sweet Joy School graduates!
It was wonderful to hear their voices
declare the goodness of our God.

Afterwards we played Christmas games.
Pin the star above the stable was one of them.

Each child received a yellow "Star of Bethlehem"
and had to try to pin it above the stable.

It was alot of fun!

Then we played an "angel ornament" hunt game.
I hid twelve angel ornaments around the den and the little ones
had to find them all! They all did great!

We had lunch together and then
the CAKE!!!
We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.
To hear fourteen little voices sing to Jesus...
well, it was precious.

The day was so beautiful in many ways,
but one way was in the weather.
A warm day in December allowed some of the children to run out in the backyard and play,
while others stayed in and worked on their Christmas craft.

I believe we all had a wonderful time.
Being busy myself  I hadn't taken all the pictures that I wanted to,
but I think you can see what an absolutely splendid day we had
celebrating the birth of Jesus together!!!

May you know the true love of our Lord Jesus this Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas to you all!!!

Thursday

Letter of the Day: Jj is for Jesus!

Christmas and crafts
seem to go hand-in-hand.
So, today we are painting and stamping
a picture of the Nativity!

I painted the outline of the stable for them

and they got busy-stamping!

Jesus is the reason for the season--
and they know it =)

After our Circle time and Bible time we began our
Bible time craft time.

Today I gave them a choice of a
large J stamp and a small J stamp.
I was told that the llittle J's were the babies and the
large J's were the mommy, daddy, grandma, and grand-daddy!
(sooooo cute)

Our work is completed!

We practiced all our songs in preparation for our
"Happy Birthday Jesus" party.
They did great!

And lastly, we took the opportunity to play outside while the weather is still warm =)

Friday

Christmas Season is Here! Letter Ii

Over the next three weeks of Joy School we will be studying the story of Jesus' birth.

We started off our morning with another educational playtime.

Today we played with tracks.
Tracks are like pieces of a puzzle only we get to design and create the puzzle ourselves!!
We had many pieces and the goal was to make an oval shape track.

They had to figure out when to use 'curved' and 'straight' tracks.

Also when and where to add special pieces!

We had another goal...to make a circle track.

They soon realized that this task required only curved pieces.

and after all that hard work...

they played =D

After our playtime we settled down for our prayer time.
We prayed for our daddies.
Every week each child has it on their heart to pray for their daddy- I love it!
One student this week said, "Pray for me-I not sleep berry good at night time."
Which lead another one to ask for prayer for her brother, "Pray for brother-so he's not so sleepy."

After our pledges we worked at Circle time.

Discovering that today was the very first day of December
lead some to realize that Christmas is getting much closer!!

Then after reading and talking about our Bible story we went to the table for craft time.
We found the letter 'I' and stamped it on our work page and...

worked hard to color, staying inside the lines, upper case 'I' and lower case 'i'.

In our Bible time we read about how the angel Gabriel spoke to Mary
and how she said yes to God.

They searched for just the right color and size eyes for their angel.

In the pile of such little eyes I came across a set that was quite different-
I decided to surprise them!

Of course that lead to other kiddies wanting to try and make everyone laugh!!

It was silly, but really funny!!!

We ended the day laughing-what could be better???!!!
