Day 6: Letter Ff

I chose to start the morning off with...
painting!!!

They were all excited!

They got right to work.

We learned how to put paint on our leaf stamp,
stamp the paper and then fill the canvas with leaves!

and rainbows!

After we finished painting,
washing up, and cleaning up,
we moved into 'Circle Time.'

We said our "Pledge of Allegiance" to the American flag and...

our pledge to the Christian flag.

Today we studied the letter Ff.
We read the story of how Jesus called Peter, a fisherman, to be His apostle.
I told them that Jesus asked Peter to no longer fish for fish,
but to fish for men.
They went hysterical laughing!  "You can't fish for men!!!"
They thought that that was the funniest thing I have ever said.
Hopefully, they understood more clearly when the lesson was over.

Another great day with great children.

Day 4, "Daniel didn't fear in the lion's den."

A new day, a new week!!! We always start the day with an educational game. I allow this time of the morning for the children to come in, get acclimated, build deeper friendships and to learn something new through games or toys. Today's task was figuring out puzzles. I taught them how to find the "corner" pieces first and then place them down. Next, we work with the "clues" that each piece gives us. It was a fun time and I think they learned alot.

Below the children are assemblying an alphabet floor puzzle.
They had to work together to place the letters in their correct order.

She did it!! (I knew she would =)

We did number puzzles...

animal puzzles...
annnd...just about every puzzle I own!
Then it was time for "Circle Time."
We work to uncover the numbers of the dates from when we were a part.
(I just love that chubby arm!)

We also work on our colors and...

 our numbers.

Today we studied D for Daniel.
After reading about him in the Bible we talked about the miracle God created for Daniel.
I asked the children, "Do you think God would protect us if we asked Him?"
One said, "Oh, yes, if we were in a lion's den he would save us too."  (!) soooo cute!

The completed work!!!
...and soooo proud!

It was another great day- I can't seem to cover all we do in one day in just one blog entry, so I'll try and cover different things each week. Until next time...JOY!!!
