Friday

Letter of the Day:Qq

We started the day with "Snap Blocks."
They are metal toys with snaps on them
that you can build with.

Some of the parts do not have snaps.
They twist together to make wheel sets.

After a few short lessons
the children were well on their way to making much!

A gun is always in order!
He was shooting the dangerous, and fierce, attacking turtles!

And then me, of course!

We made a camera!

"Cheeeese!"

Trucks!
And Trains!

When we finished our morning play time
we went to have our Circle Time.
Today, when reviewing our shapes through the use
of our shape flash cards, one child didn't remember the difference
between a triangle and a rectangle.
So, I taught them a new song on shapes.

"What is a triangle? what is a triangle?
How can you tell? How can you tell?
It has three sides,
It has three sides,
It is a triangle.
It is a triangle."

What is a rectangle? What is a rectangle?
How can you tell? How can you tell?
It has two long sides,
 and two short sides,
It is a rectangle.
It is a rectangle.

After our Bible Time
we headed to the table for our Bible Craft time.

Today we painted in our Upper-case and Lower-case
Letter Qq.

They really enjoyed it!

We talked about what a Godly woman Queen Esther was.
She prayed and fasted to hear from the Lord.
Even in her fear she sought God's will for her life.
"Queen Esther was not quiet."
She was so brave when she 'opened' her mouth before the King!

We had about five minutes to spare
before the mommies came.
We ran outside and enjoyed a beautiful day =D

Sunday

Letter of the Day:Pp

This week we began our morning play time
with the old fashion wooden blocks.

After they built different buildings and towers
I showed them our buckets of play animals.
They quickly went to work making homes for the animals
and creating stories!

After our time creating different adventures with the animals
we moved to our Circle Time.
We had our opening prayer time
in which all of the children continue to pray for their daddies.
We reviewed our calendar facts, numbers, colors, and shapes.

Today we were to focus our Bible time
on the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
I read the Bible story aloud to them, closed the Bible and began
asking them questions about the story.
It was amazing how each child understood
the bravery and faith of the three men.

I then asked them if they knew any other
stories from the Bible where God protected His people.
Right away I heard, "JONAH!"
"God had the whale spit Jonah out!"
Then one student said,
"NOAH!"
"God protected Noah and His family from the flood."
One little boy said,
"DANIEL!"
"God shut the lions mouths! and angels were there!"

They remembered the story of David, Moses, and Elijah
that we studied here in Joy School.
It was so wonderful to hear their faith come alive.
We then talked about how God hears OUR prayers
and protects us too.

Our alphabet flip chart review time:
Pp.

We went to the table
to color in upper-case P
and lower-case p.
We stamped our letters and then began to
work on our Bible craft.

The fiery furnace!
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego
walk into the fire as punishment for
not bowing down to the King's statue.
Jesus joins them in the fire!!!
He protects them and saves them from the fire!
It was a great faith-building day!
