Here we are in a new week
new things to play with
new things to learn.
Today we played and experimented with
the old fashion toy~
Lincoln Logs.
We worked altogether to build a log house.
Everyone wanted to have some part in
laying the roof down.
One child said that we needed to cover the
whole roof so the 'rain' wouldn't get in.
(Working with them is just too wonderful!)
Success!
Then each tried to make their own smaller creations.
After our morning play time
we gathered together for prayer.
We prayed for ourselves and for our dear friend Abby
who fractured her femur. We love you ABBY!!
We then reviewed all our shapes, colors,
numbers, alphabet, days of the week and months of the year.
It's amazing how far they have come from the beginning of the year.
In our Bible time
we read how Saul hurt many Christians
and how his life was changed after he met Jesus.
We had a 'new' student join in today!
She wasn't quite able to keep up,
but it was fun watching her try!
We colored in Saul,
(We were able to stick him to his donkey,
(We were able to stick him to his donkey,
with the help of Velcro),
on his way to Damascus.
Then we glued the cloud in the sky...
and colored in the 'bright light' that came upon Saul
as Jesus spoke to him.
Saul fell off his donkey,
and fell to the ground in fear.
He didn't even know who was talking to him!
He didn't even know who was talking to him!
We spoke about how we need to listen for God's voice.
God is always wanting to speak to us and
we need to be ready to listen.
we need to be ready to listen.
Then we danced during our Bible songs time.
We listened to a new song all about Saul who became know as Paul.
We finished our student rewards chart
and get ready for a new one!
If a child receives five stars for the day
they get to choose something from the rewards box!
(In all my years of teaching Joy School
not one child was refused a prize!)
God is always blessing us, His children,
so why not bless these little ones too!!! =D
