Letter of the Week - Gg

We started the day talking about Autumn
and changes this season brings.
I taught them about squirrels-
how they work to find, store, and bury acorns for the winter.

Then they painted a squirrel!

We talked about what color squirrels are-
black, brown or gray.
They noticed that the squirrels in our area are all gray.

I showed them how black and white mixed together make gray.

Then they got to work painting their squirrels!

While we waited for everyone to finish painting and cleaning up
they created tracks and played with the trains.

Today we had a special helper!
(Marissa is a Joy School graduate-
she knew just what to do!)

She helped the children review the calendar, alphabet,
 shapes, numbers,and colors.

In our Bible time we read about the one lost sheep.
We talked about how God is like the good shepherd in the story.
God cares for us so much that He will look for us and be with us no matter what.

Our Bible craft time-'God is the Good Shepherd.'

During our vowel/reading time
we learned a new 'ladder.'
It was exciting to see all the children practicing their sounds
and understanding them!

We also worked on our handwriting!

At the end of the day we cut out all the parts of the squirrel,
and pasted them together on a large sheet of paper.

All done!
